Join the Project Tracker (Trello board)

This is an optional tool for boxers to use as needed.

Give you projects a home. We’ll all be able to see what you’re working on.

Make sure you enter your project correctly and update it accordingly. When it’s done, let us know and we’ll get you on the wall of finished!

You’ll see an example trello card at the top of the “Active Projects” column.

Join and save the Project Tracker for easy access.

Words matter 🙂 Here are some common words we use in the box and what they mean:

The box is not the project, the box is the container that helps you finish that project.

You come to the box with a project that needs to be completed.

You create a box around it.

  • What does finished look like
  • What’s your timeline
  • Potential distractions / roadblocks

A project is…well, a project that you need to focus on and finish.

It can be a big project or a small project.

Client work, course creation, video editing, content planning, writing a book or song, etc.

You likely have multiple projects, but you can’t finish all 5 at once, so pick one to put inside a box, finish it, then you can move on to the next one!

Easy, eh?

Yes, you can work on multiple if it makes sense, but as soon as it becomes multi-tasking or a distraction, limit it to one.

“Boxing” is the back and forth process (coaching) of figuring out your top priority, your top distractions, and then creating a structure around it.

Us boxers are willing to go “9 rounds” against..

  • Unfinished work
  • Shiny object syndrome
  • Fear of selling / promoting
  • Lone wolf syndrome (going it alone)
  • Procrastination / perfectionism

How to be a part of this community

We’re not striving for perfection

It can be easy to join a community like this, then let life get in the way, and before you know it, you’re stuck back in the same habits of unfinished work or overwhelm.

So if you’re serious about being a boxer. Someone who finishes what they start, and only starts things with clear intentions, then make the effort to be a part of this.

You’ll succeed in the box if you are a part of it.

  • Make every call you can
  • Ask for support and support others in the community
  • Share wins, challenges & lessons
  • Be vulnerable

What happens if you don’t finish a project on time?

Pivot, re-commit or throw it away. If you don’t finish it too many times, you need to completely change the way you’re doing it.

Is the structure still sufficient? Do you need more accountability?

Like anything, there is a learning curve and a habit that needs to be created around showing up in the box.

Stick with it for a month and see what changes after that. If done right, you’ll experience some huge shifts and realize there is no secret or trick to being a finisher. It’s really simple.

The only goal inside the box is to finish what you start.

We’ll use this framework:

Once you’ve finished a project, let the group know and we’ll add it to the ‘Wall of Finished.’

When you and the community understand your box, you’re held powerfully accountable.

So here’s to finishing, shipping, and promoting our work…because no one else is going to do it for us…and if we don’t care, why should anyone else?

Amazing things happen on the other side of finished.

Welcome to The Box. See you on the next coworking call!
